Basic Instruction for Huizhou District
Huizhou District is the only District that reserve the Old Huizhou Name after abolishing the origin Huizhou District and establishing Huangshan City on 1987.
The whole square of it is 442.6 sq.km, it involves 4 towns, 69 valage, 1 subdistrct office and 3 residents' committee, The total population approaches 100 thousand. The District Government is settled in Yansi, which is an important town of South to Anhui in the history.
long befor 4,500 years ago, there lived hominid in Yansi then. Recorded by Yan Town History, as Qianlong edition, there were 10 grottos around by someone in the sourtheast of hillside about 5 miles long to Fengle River. It was called Little Yansi, Old Yansi. On the first yeas of Dali, King of Tang Dynastry, (A.D. 766) the famous monk named Shanyunshan accumulated honorific here, setting up The Triad of Gods, and buit up kinds of temples facing to east and west For the temples were built in the front of the grottos, Dynasty Tang named it as “Yansi”.
In the second year of Shaoxing, Sourth of Song Dynasty (A.D. 1132), Gaozong required it to set up to town. To Jiaqing and Qianlong, it got more big building and it became an important Commercial Center . which got thousands of houses, possessed several squared miles and many merchantman came here.
Huizhou District has a geographical position，it is conveniently situated next to the hot travel line from Hangzhou, Qiandao Lake and Huangshan, it’s the “South Gate” to go in and out to Huangshan Scenic Zone. Wangan Railway cross it , 205 National Highway and 215 Province Way meet here and they are connected to Huihang Autoroute which has been open to traffic,Tonghuang Autoroute even cross the whole area. The distance between Huizhou Centre and Huangshan Airport is only 16 km, it’s also 56 km to Huangshan Scenic Zone and 30 km to Shendu Dock, Shexian which to Qiandao Lake, it takes about 2 hours to Hangzhou by Huihang Autoroute, It is conveniently situated here.
Huizhou District is well served with infrastructural facilities, industry has began to take shape. Now it has been built up a waterworks that can supply water 20 thousand tons daily; a Power Exchange Engineering for 110KV; a programmable phones with 26 thousand sets terminal and a net for Mobile, Unicom and Broadcast. Huizhou District is the biggest industrial base in Huangshan City., it gets more than 2 billion Industrial output value per year Now it has the enterprises belong to Huangshan City such as Huangshan Yougjia Group, Du pont Huajia, Huangshan Yongxin, etc and some strong enteprises belong to Huizhou District such as Xinli, Taida, Wanji, etc.We got about 200 milion Industrial output added value on 2003, and synthetic benefit index of industry economy is on the head of Anhui Province. Revenue to finance provided by industry occupies more than 60 percent in the whole revenue.
